15 month old Emily

Belle, Emily, and I visited the pediatrician yesterday for Emily's 15- month well visit. The good news: Emily is well! She is growing nicely: 22 pounds & 4 ounces (65th percentile), 29.5 inches (16th percentile), 18 inch head circumference (50th percentile). Emily is walking (yippee!) and babbling and pointing and demonstrating age-appropriate skills. She sure is feisty, too. She was not happy being examined so she pushed and thrashed and screamed though her entire exam. She just wanted to doc to see that she has well-developed lungs and opinions. Keep up the great growing, Emily!

Sharing a car shopping cart

It was Emily's first ride in the car attached to the grocery store shopping cart. Belle was excited to have a buddy. Emily was initially drawn the the steering wheel and "beep beep" horn on Belle's side of the car, but Belle, being the kind big sister she is, showed Emily how Emily had her own steering wheel and yellow horn.

Grocery shopping has never been so much fun. To whom can I direct my gratitude for the shopping carts with the cars attached? Whoever it is was genius enough to make the cars big enough for two. Brilliant!

Belle had a 2-hour delay the other day and couldn't go to school until 11:15.  So she came to work with me. Here she is watching Pirates of Penzance on my computer.

Matching train conductors

The girls were a hit at the Holiday Train Show and the Thomas and Friends Show, both at the New York Botanical Gardens,wearing matching striped overalls. So many people stopped to comment in how our girls looked like little train conductor. We had a fun time with the Ceplers (12 altogether: Helene, Richard, Jeffrey, Noah, Craig, Seren, Belle, Emily, Julie, Mitchell, Liam, Scarlett) and the trains and Thomas. Thanks for the matching outfits, Aunt Carla & Uncle JoJo!

Cousins Noah and Mia came over to play today. We had fun!

Belle asleep

Belle said she couldn't sleep because no one was snuggling her, so Craig tucked one of her stuffed friends (here a stuffed Princess Belle) down the nightgown she was wearing over her onesie pajamas (she wanted to wear the nightgown, which is impractical in winter, so we compromised). By wearing Princess Belle, Belle was being snuggled. Belle also likes to "read" before bed, sometimes sitting up. So, here, Belle fell asleep sitting up wearing her stuffed toy with her bedside lamp on.

Sick day

Belle was home sick at the end of the week. In the first pic, she claimed to not be tired, the. Fell fast asleep on me. She was feeling better so we took a selfie in the second pic.
