There is a new leader of the big kid services at Temple Israel Center, and he has really engaged Belle. Part of his strategy has been to introduce a rewards system: if you lead part of the service, you get a ticket, and you can trade tickets for knick knacks.
Whether because if this reward system or because she likes a good challenge, Belle wanted to read the Torah. So we signed her up to read one pasuk (sentence). And yesterday, belle read from the parsha, Mishpatim (shemot/exodus 21:3). You couldn't imagine how proud I was!
And unlike when Emily conquered a black diamond last week at thunder ridge, I didn't run her over on skis and make her cry. It's been a proud week for this dad.
