Face!

Visits to Emily's classroom

A building Emily built with classmates, my welcome when I shared matzah and information about Passover, and a pic of me reading to the class when I was the mystery reader.

Sadie gives kisses

Or tries to eat my face. Either way, very sweet.

Free cone day at Carvel!

Something only an English teacher mom would appreciate

I often recall a passage in Of Mice and Men in which George tells Slim of a time when George is showing off to some guys. To demonstrate the power George holds over Lennie, George tells Lennie to jump into a body of water, which Lennie does despite not knowing how to swim. George feels bad, though, so he jumps in and rescues a near-drowning Lennie. Lennie is so relieved to be saved that he showers George with love and gratitude, ignoring the fact that it was George who told Lennie to jump in the first place.
I think if this when baby Sadie is fussing in her bassinet/crib or on the play mat or some other location where I placed her. She always gives me a huge, rewarding smile when I lift in my arms, oblivious to the fact that I was the one who put her down to begin with.

Rolling rolling rolling

Sadie started rolling over from her back to her belly! Good job, kiddo!

Worn-out emily

Emily put herself down for a nap after lunch, which was so unusual that teacher called me. When I went to pick her up more than an hour later, she is fast asleep. I had to carry her asleep to the car.
It seems this weekend with her grandparents wore her out!
